Schedule
Watershed Schoolhouse runs from 9am-3pm Monday through Friday.
While the school is hybrid indoor/outdoor every day, Fridays are spent entirely outdoors (typically in Bidwell Park).
Calendar
Watershed Schoolhouse follows the calendar of Chico Unified School District (CUSD).
Sample Daily Rhythm
Each day strives for a balance between routine and emergence. Routine offers students autonomy and orientation; emergence—responding to what is arising—keeps curiosity at the forefront and vitality in the learning community.
8:45 - 9:00 - Arrival and Drop-Off
9:00 - 9:15 - Opening Circle/Movement/Game
9:15 - 10:30- Morning Block 1 - Integrated Project Based Learning/Whole Class/Small Group Time
10:30 - 10:45 - Break/Snack/Game
10:45 - 11:45 - Morning Block 2 - Project Extension/Small Group/Independent Work
11:45 - 12:45 - Lunch/Recess/Clean Up
12:45- 1:00 - Story - Read aloud/Journaling/Sit Spot/Group Wander
1:00- 2:30 - Afternoon Block - Outdoor Project Integration/Nature Time/Journaling/Games/Movement
2:30- 2:45 - Clean Up/Next Day Project Prep
2:45 - 3:00 - Closing Circle/Story of the Day (Parents invited)
3:00 - Departure & Pick-Up
