Watershed Schoolhouse is thrilled to announce a new series of events. Join us for an interactive Community Event, an Info Session, or both. RSVP required.

INFO SESSIONS are focused on a presentation about Watershed Schoolhouse, primarily geared toward parents and guardians who are interested in exploring if Watershed Schoolhouse is a right fit for their family.

COMMUNITY EVENTS are a chance for interested families, supporters, and community members to gather, connect, and learn about Watershed Schoolhouse through hands-on, intergenerational activities.

COMMUNITY EVENT 1: FINDING FIRE

Outdoor event. Families are invited to gather at Watershed Schoolhouse to meet one another and be with fire. We will work with fire by friction, play some games, share stories, etc. This is a great way to get a feel for Watershed Schoolhouse. More details will be sent to registered participants. All ages welcome. No experience necessary!

INFO SESSION 1: Indoor event. Families will have a chance to meet one another, watch a presentation (20-30 minutes), and participate in an informal post-presentation Q&A/conversation. Children who are 3+ and potty trained are welcome and will spend their time with a childcare provider and any other children in attendance.

COMMUNITY EVENT 2: NATURE ART

(Mostly) Outdoor event. Nature offers endless inspiration for creativity and art. Our art can deepen our learning and understanding of the natural world. Even more, when we create our own art supplies, we integrate both art and nature into one beautiful, playful experience. More details will be sent to registered participants. All ages welcome. No experience necessary!

COMMUNITY EVENT 3: BIRD LANGUAGE BASICS

Outdoor event. Bird language (different from birdwatching), is the study of what the sounds and patterns of birds (and other animals) can tell us about the place where we live. We will give an intro to bird language, practice listening in on the birds, play games, share stories, etc. This is a great way to get a feel for Watershed Schoolhouse and to engage with the changes of spring. More details will be sent to registered participants. All ages welcome. No experience necessary!

Outdoor event. Come play! As we explore natural ways of moving, from play and climbing to animal forms, experience what is possible when we use our bodies and our senses to connect with the world around us. COMMUNITY EVENT 4: WATERSHED WORK

Outdoor event. Join us for hands-on, feet-in work on restoring the Mud Creek Watershed. Learn about ways we can directly support the waterways where we live. We will also practice observation, play games, and generally relish in the chance to hang by the creek. More details will be sent to registered participants. All ages welcome. No experience necessary!
